Staying at Sambrook Manor Cottages in Shropshire: FAQs – Your Guide

Planning on a breakaway in the gorgeous Shropshire countryside? Here are our FAQs to help you plan the perfect break in one of four stunning self-catering cottages here at Sambrook Manor.

 

How many cottages do you have?

We have four cottages which can be hired separately or all together, sleeping a total of 26 if all beds are used including the sofa bed in The Old Shippon mezzanine.

 

Can we just stay for one night?

Sorry we have a minimum stay of three nights due to the amount of work required for each changeover, often guests at the weekend will just stay for two nights but leave late afternoon/early evening on the Sunday.

 

Can we check in any day of the week?

Yes, we are very flexible, and you can check in to start you holiday any day of the week.

 

What time do we need to arrive and leave?

Cottages will be available from 4pm on your check in day, sometimes they can be ready sooner if needed just get in touch near the time of your stay and I can let you know if an early check in is possible.  If you can’t arrive till late, don’t worry we can leave a key for you.  Check out time is 10am so we have time to get the cottage ready for the next guests.

Do you require a deposit?

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking with the balance due 4 weeks before your stay, for bookings made within four weeks of the stay the full amount will be taken at the time of booking.

 

Are children allowed?

Yes, all children are welcome, and we have cots & high chairs available if required, The Old Shippon & The Stables have a fixed stairgate at the bottom and The Stables has a removable gate at the top.  A selection of toys/books are available in each cottage.

 

Are the cottages suitable for the less abled?

Both Churn cottage and The Stables are suitable for the less able and assisted wheel chair users with wet room shower rooms, wider door ways, and downstairs bedrooms.  We have removable ramps, walking frame, shower chair, wheeled shower chair, shower stool and a commode available if required.  Accessibility guides are available on the website for each cottage.

 

Can I bring my dog/pet?

Sorry no dogs/pets are allowed due to us still being a working farm and having lots of animals around.

 

Do I need to bring towels/bedding?

No all bedding is provided, and all beds are made up ready for your arrival, all towels are included as well as kitchen tea towels.

 

Can I have a food grocery delivery?

Yes, all major supermarkets will deliver to the cottages as well as local take-a-ways and just eat.

 

Is there Wi-Fi.

Yes, all cottages have a good Wi-Fi signal, and all cottages have a smart TV.

 

Are the cottages warm?

Yes, the cottages are lovely and warm, we don’t restrict the heating and you have full control.  All cottages have underfloor heating and each room and be controlled separately so if you like a cool bedroom but warm living area that is not a problem.  Our heating is run off a waste wood burner so have the advantage of being carbon neutral as well.

 

Is there a hairdryer?

Yes, all cottages have a hairdryer.

 

Is there a BBQ.

Yes, all cottages have charcoal BBQs, and an outdoor patio area with table, chairs.  The Old Shippon and Churn cottage has their own enclosed private gardens over looking the fields and The Stables & The Cart shed have their own patio areas at the front.

 

Is there parking?

There is a large courtyard where you can park outside your cottage.

 

Can I charge my electric car?

We don’t have electric charging points at the cottages but there is a charger at Sambrook village hall just 0.2miles from the cottages.

 

Is there anything we cannot bring?

Yes! Sorry no disposable BBQs, Chinese sky lanterns, drones, or metal detectors (unless we give you permission) no firearms, drugs or anything illegal.

 

Can we look around the farm,

Farm tours are provided by Nell at the weekends and school holidays, and we are happy to show anyone around when time allows, please do check with us first before you go exploring on your own as your safety is paramount to us.
