Half Term Fun

The children may only just have gone back to school, but October half term is just around the corner and Sambrook Manor cottages offers you the perfect base for an unforgettable holiday.

Here are some ideas for some great days out to keep the children entertained.

Hoo Zoo & Dinosaur world

A family run zoo with over 100 animal species and 45 animatronic dinosaurs and beasts book an experience to help the keepers and get up close to the animals.  Visit animal talks & activities throughout the day, play on the huge outdoor play area and see Britain’s most realistic dinosaurs.

Alderford Lake

Hire a paddleboard, kayak or canoe, splash around on the huge Aqua Park, escape from the island, wild swim or just enjoy a stroll around the lake and a visit

to the onsite restaurant.  Special Halloween activities including fright nights and witchcraft woods.

 

 

Severn Valley Railway

Jump aboard an award-winning heritage railway and enjoy a steam train ride in the beautiful countryside.  At the mid-point is the engine house visitor centre where children can run free in the outdoor paly area or get hands on sorting the mail in the traveling post office.

 

Telford Town Park

Lots for all ages to do at Telford Town Park including a whole range of play equipment, High ropes climb course, Toddler play & sand area, two water splash zones so don’t forget the spare change of clothes, mini & disc golf, gardens & walking trails.  Next to the town park is a large shopping centre with cinema, bowling & ice skating.

Trentham Monkey Forest

Is the only place in the UK where you can walk amongst 140 free roaming Barbary Macaque monkeys, walk around the ¾ of a mile path to see the monkeys around you, see if you can spot any baby monkeys and watch the young ones playing about. Also large paly area, café & shop.

 

Wonderland Telford

A magical experience for younger children where nursery rhymes and fairytales come to life with fairytale characters and their houses around every corner.  Set in 9 acres of woodland there are rides, a maze, crazy golf, dinosaur valley, the Wrekin giant and lots more to explore.

 

 

Cadbury World

Located in the historic village of Bournville, where Cadbury’s first started making chocolate over 100 years ago a self-guided tours takes you through numerous chocolatey zones including a 4D cinema experience.  A chocolate filled day out for the whole family with lots of treats along the way.
